I have been active in neighborhood associations for more than 20 years. Prior to the city council I served on the San Mateo Planning Commission for 5 years. I have also found over my years of neighborhood and City involvement that I enjoy the work. Yes it can be difficult particularly in these difficult economic times. We will manage our way through these times and I want to be part of the solutions so that we emerge stronger and preserve our quality of life.
We have a wonderful city, good restaurants, beautiful and diverse neighborhoods, excellent schools and much more. I want to help you preserve and enhance all of this. We also need to plan for the future while protecting much of what we have. To accomplish this, we need to maintain and improve our Neighborhood Voice and our participation in government. I will continue to express Neighborhood Views in a balanced way and always strive to ensure that you have opportunities to comment and be heard.
Elected officials are supposed to represent the views of their constituents and this requires listening. As your elected representative I will listen, carefully review and study each issue to make an informed decision. I have been and will remain a supporter of neighborhood issues while maintaining a balance to encourage business success. believe my combination of experience and dedication throughout the years will continue to make me and excellent council person. Please support responsible and responsive government by electing me on November 3rd. Together we can make our wonderful city even better.
